Here we go again

I don't know about you but I am sure tired of headlines and reviewers falsely stating representing things about products. Just like with the incredible all headlines represent the phone as the best thing ever never pointing out the bad things that the phone had and now after people bought the product you got crashes, bad battery life, grounding issues with the touch screen, and signal strength problems. Well such is the case yet again with the evolution it seems already. The headline is that the evolution is the one of the best smartphones (not just android) ever made. But this is quote inside the article: "However, the data speeds I got in my tests weren't spectacular, or anywhere close to the typica maximum Sprint claims, even in Baltimore, where the company's 4G network is mature. And, when using 4G, the EVO's battery runs down alarmingly fast. In my tests, it didn't last through a full day with 4G turned on. The carrier, in fact, is thinking of advising users to turn off the 4G network access when they don't think they need it, to save battery ife. This undercuts the whole idea of faster cellular"(New York Times)..And so other reports state that the phone can't last 5 hours. I'm not saying that this is the final word on this phone but if both or even one of these people were right on their findings, how in the world does this equal to "one of the best smartphones ever". The headlines dont match the info. I mean you get this phone for 4g right but yet I need to turn it off so I can make it through the day??? This isn't at all what I define as one of the best if you can't give me simple battery life and or tell me I can't use the phone for what I bought it for just so I can make through the day. Not to mention the fact that I have to pay extra a month for it reguardless even if not in a city that has 4g. And especially if you can't deliver on what you said it would do(speed). And I bet you none of this stuff is looked at as a issue with the reviewer when ranking this phone. When will we just judge rightly and fairly. Now do I think the evolution is the best now with these possible issues waiting, no. Do I think it will still be a very good phone for those who don't mind HTC sense and how big and wide the phone is in your hand, yes. I am buy no means feeling like this will be a bad phone and if these problems aren't universal then my top 5 smartphones don't change a bit. I just find it depressing when see how many reviews focus on all good things and downplay the potentially bad ones. To my knowledge there has yet been a perfect phone and I don't think that's about to change anytime soon.

Android launcher pro beta

Hey for those of us out there that have helix launcher and love it there is a better launcher out for beta. It's the new android launcher pro beta software. It can be downloaded for free as usual. It gives you the same options to have 7 ,5, or standard 3 screens. But on top of that it gives you the incredible's pinch to launch option plus adds default touch controls at the bottom. Another option it gives is the pick the page default option. This gives you the ability to make any of the 7 screens your home screen. And last but not least is its 3d opening app tray launch for your apps.  So far I found it very fast and smooth. I've already made it my default launcher over helix. You guys should go check it out when you have a chance.

Mario's top five smartphone today!

OK I get this a lot from friends at work and people that just know me. They ask what is the best smartphone out there and why? Well that is something that is harder than most feel it is. There are so many things that come into play that help make that a reality. Your area, what you like better, physical keyboard or digital or hybrid, what carrier are looking to be under, etc. So being that I can't answer that for you I will give you my list of the best smartphone regardless of carrier, keyboard, an area you live in and it will be up to You to look over and make the best choice for yourself.

1. HTC evolution: Why= 4g, android, 1ghz snapdragon , front facing camera, faster interface and camera and long battery life with some say HTC sense as well, and huge screen.

2. Motorola droid: why= android, comes with 16 gb card free, ability to root and make it faster than any phone out right now( even faster than the snapdragon)with a great battery life , speech search and speech email with nav with accessories in bunches and hybrid keyboards with "accurate"color display screen running 854x460 pixels.

3. IPhone 3gs: why=simple, apps to hill, great camera, iTunes that is unmatched for music and movies to be purchased . Some can be jailbroke and more accessories than a shoe store has shoes. Fast and still has the best internet
"default"browser overall.

4. Blackberry bold 2: why: its blackberry but smoother and faster with no lags, great feel, unmatched email client, one of the best battery life's of any type of phone. Great for business or play and has the best keyboard period. Has the most stable OS I have ever seen.

5: palm pre: why= palm OS, its very fast as long as there aren't too many cards running, still one of the best looking phones out there with amazing photo camera results and speed. Great navigation controls throughout phone's menu system and the best multi tasking I have ever had or seen on a smartphone along with a very pleasant browser experience. And can be cracked and modified like the iPhone jailbreak. Only thing that put this at #5 instead of #3 is the fact that palm failed in their attempt and had to sale the company for unheard of reasons to me. I still don't get it why this phone didn't sale more.

Honorable mentions: *The incredible by HTC. It was left out thanks to the evolution being a better version of the same phone without the problems that the incredible had with battery problems and bad signal strength problems(so far as we know).

Mcadam's not really thinking ahead

Lowell mcadam should be pulled out of making statements like this. According to him the incredible by htc would have "easily" outsold the droid and its opening day numbers if it was not for shortages. For me that's just not good business thinking. Let's look at what it is shall we. The motorola droid is the best selling smartphone ever in history on verizon and the 2nd best selling device next to the iphone based on time on market and opening day launch numbers. The motorola droid is responsible for the major raise of android devices as we know them to date. Everywhere you look you see their ads and there pictures in verizon stores. Bottom line the motorola droid has been really good for verizon and their numbers. But to go out and make statements like this seems a little disrespectful to Motorola.  Especially when the incredible didn't outsell Motorola's Droid. Blame it on this or that. Would've,  should've, and could've don't mean anything. When its all said and done it didn't and that's that. What you should be doing is promoting the incredible as another great phone in the lineup and nothing more. Why put your relationship with Motorola on uneasy ground because you're going to want the Motorola Droid 2 so you need to be careful not to burn bridges.  You can hype up the incredible without putting down or belittling what Motorola Droid has done and continues to do for your company. How about focusing on bad battery life issues and signal strength problems on the incredible  first before running your month off prematurely about sales that might have been.  That will go much further with the fans, believe me.

The "soul trian":)

Now this is what I call traveling in style! I'm not into the gambling scene but this looks inviting. This is most likely the coolest train I have ever seen. I wonder what the outside looks like.

Android world power is growing.

As I sit here going goo-goo over my motorola droid I started to step out and really look at the world as we know it. The world of android is growing folks by leaps and bounds. They are really breaking ground on everyone. And the biggest thing is that they have done this in less than 3 years on the market. I really believe that people have forgot that fact. Android isn't a windows format or blackberry.  Its a brand new baby in the ring with a lot of old and mature fighters that have been around the block for some time. Even apple is getting to that "30" age time frame and isn't a baby anymore.  Everywhere you look you see android and google. You can't get pass it. No matter what apple, windows, or any other company says or does they can't defeat google at this point of their control. They are in everything and gaining more power. The first droid, the incredible, the first 4g evo google phone, even motorola's flipout have so much attention and push its scary. In fact the android platform is the most talked about phone format period right now. And it is this type of attention that all other companies are starting fear.  I personally haven't seen anything like google in my life.  It is the biggest most powerful influence in this digital age we have ever seen. And I love it!! I can't see given this platform and company 5 years in doing what it is doing now and it not complete take hand in more things digital than any format and company in world history. Google is down right "a beast", hopfully not "The Beast" or we all are in trouble.
