Fgbrowser thoughts
Now sometimes "when things aren't broke don't fix them" doesn't always work I guess. Such is the case with this new browser. I have no problem with safari browser for the iPhone and still think it's one amazing browser and by far the best of any other phone out there. But this browser has seem to bring a new way of doing things. This browser is a full screen browser #1 but the techniques used to operate the browser such as the mulit touch functions of use make this browser a very fun app to use. In fact it will most likely become the most used app that I have ever uses up to this point. The browser for me(and my 3g iPhone) is by far the fastest one that I have used of all the other downloadable browsers such as oceanus and spy(which both were also very good, if it wasn't for speed and battery life problems it caused on my phone while jason's 3gs phone experienced only battery problems but not speed problems). Now I'm thinking that more than likely the fg browser probably is more friendly toward all iPhone versions but the oceanus browser, for example, is more for the 3gs users. But the choice is up to you. Now as far as use goes this is were the fun part comes in for the fg. You use 3 fingers to tap on screen and it brings up the page shown here. This, as you see, brings up a "all you need" page with you search box, your URL box and your bookmarks. Very neat! You can use two fingers on screen and slide to the left to go back a page and then two fingers on the screen and slide it to the right to go forward. If you want to book mark anything or send a email link to a friend use two fingers sliding down to bring that menu up. And finally in you want to lock the screen direction, 2 fingers sliding up. Now this does have a small learning curve but once that is over you will find yourself using these techniques without thought and they will start to become very useful and faster than safari's. Now don't get me wrong this browser is not going to replace safari, at least not at it's present state. One main reason is that there are still sites that don't all work properly. Like this site's password section I could not access with fg browser and then there are links on other sites that I went to that I could not activate. But I do look forward to seeing more updates that unlock more features for this product and fix some of this issues. If you want to see a quick video on how it works go here:
