
MacRumors is reporting that allegedly Apple has contacted Microsoft and is demanding that they stop running those "Laptop Hunter" commercials because, "they've lowered their prices on their laptops" by $100 or so.
If this is true, this is big.
For those who haven't been following my personal blog or journey, I was recently in the market for a new laptop. Mario and I went back and forth with the pros and cons between PC and Mac. My decision was a pc.
While these ads don't tell the whole story and don't necessarily compare like-for-like specs on the laptops. It does bring up the biggest point that apple has a very difficult time responding to...price. The PC Laptop I got that had more memory, more ram, bigger screen than the MacBook I was looking at was over $500 cheaper. I am aware of the rebuttals regarding viruses, etc. (again, we'll save that argument for another day.)
But I have to call this ad campaign based on this news and my actions, a success.
