My new set up and possibly Sony's secret!

One of my main reasons for getting extended coverage on my gadgets is having the ability to get back what is broken right away instead of waiting for a remanufactured item from the maker. Such is the case with game systems especially the playstation 3 system. Sony sends back to you a remade system with cheaper parts that run different from the original. Like the fan noise people always complain about. So mine started having internet issues and lock ups so I took it back to my local best buy. They didn't just take care of me they gave me the slim 120gb with another warranty over what I had which was the 80gb. And on top of that gave me back $121. Uum, now that's a no brainer! I am not a sold out fan of the shape and style of the ps3 over the orginal but getting back $121 makes up for easily. Now what I didn't know is that sony put something inside the new update that when linked to the new slim model actually makes the graphics better than the original units. Yes you heard me people, better graphics! I couldn't believe how better my games looked and the blurays looked. And I'm not one of those people who wanted to see something that really didn't exist. I had the same madden 2010 played on my old system with lack compared to the 360 graphics but played the same madden in the slim it look just as good as the 360's. I mean you could tell the difference right away between the ps3 fat vs slim graphics. I didn't change one thing. Same tv and settings, same hdmi slot and cable. I can't explain it but I'm telling you its a clear 2 point difference at least. Now the question is why. Why would sony do this because if this gets out and confirmed you will hear from some pissed off people who still have the original one. I know that I would be one of them if I was stuck with previous unit after being shown this. I mean before the exchange I had all intentions on returning the madden for the ps3 and just keeping the 360 version because it looked so much better.
The only other thing it could be is that maybe, just maybe my graphic card was starting to fail and wasn't showing the games to its full ability. But I really don't  think that's it. Anyway I guess I'll get back to my slim and games!
