Price war!!

Ok for all those game heads out there we all know about the 3 headed beast in the world of gaming, the xbox, wii, and ps3. And while I don't really consider the wii involved in the "next gen" systems wars(its really in the same box as the ps2), its still worth bringing up. If you have been looking at the news as of late you know that the ps3 slim was released with a price reduction across the board for the rest of the systems. This resulted in amazing sale numbers for sony's system in the first 3 weeks. And the xbox did  their own price cut right after the ps3 and they got positive results as well. Well today the wii announced that they are cutting their price down by $100 starting on the 25th of this month. I personally can understand why they took this long. I mean, if you are selling this well why price cut, right? They have done a crazy job at pulling from the non-gamers pool of people instead of going after the hard core ones because that market was already locked down by the ps3 and 360. Can't fault the wii for doing that. It paid off for them. I guess the recent sell numbers, even though they were still great showed a decline. And that isn't what they wanted to see. But as far as the customers who buy the product, we should really be happy with all this because all this happens because of one word, "competition". Xbox vs ps3 vs wii = better games, better innovation, better prices, and a better gaming world for us!
