The G1 Tumbles and Falls!!!

Funny thing happened to the new G1 phone coming into the finish line. Oops, they came across some problems and experienced a little tumble and again Apple walks away with the belt, yet again. Yes the G-1 is out but it's funny how the sales of that phone has not caught on. One ( and there are others) reason I fear is the all mighty plague that destroyed even the mightiest of cell phones. I'm talking about battery life folks. I checked the latest forums on G-1 site and they are filled with people's concern over the g-1 battery life. They are coming up with battery leaks that extend further than just using the phone. The battery problem even exist while in standby, which is what would be a more problematic issue than the iphone which is why I say that the whole Iphone vs G1 is over before it really gets started. For some reason this phone pulls battery life exstinsively even while just in standby mode. So even after you get through dealing with the whole memory leak issue( the unit programs can't be stopped and continue to run in the background once activated) and, turn off the gps, turn off the wifi, turn off the 3g, turn down the screen brightest to around 20% ,etc..You still have about 3-4 hours of use tops. I'm sorry for all the fans out there that really wanted the G1 to work. Maybe somehow they will send a update that will correct this(but haven't seen one that corrected battery issues effectively yet) but for the time being the g-1 falls under the same breath as "the Dare", "the Instinct", even "the Zune" as far as want-a-be apple killers that ended up just fading in the wind.
